The 6th Annual Homeless Veterans and Non-Veterans Stand Down is Friday, November 11th and Saturday, November 12th from 8am – 3pm.
Listening Horse is honored to be part of this event on both days. We’ll have a table set-up where we visit with attendees and share information about Listening Horse. Lots of services are available for the homeless over these 2 days, in addition to food (for exhibitors as well). The stand down is being held at the Rancho Viejo Church. Check out the stand-down-flyer for more info!
We’d love help at the table giving out information. Though it’s a busy weekend with the Veterans Day Parade on Friday the 11th and classes on Saturday the 12the, we’d appreciate any help you can offer for a couple of hours. Please contact me if you have any questions.
With thanks! LH
We’d like to give credit and appreciation to Cameron Veterinary Clinic for all the great care and attention they give to our horses!
Special appreciation to Dr. Andy Cameron and his colleagues at Cameron Veterinary Clinic for all the expertise, generosity and wonderful care they continue to provide to the therapy horses.

For the 3rd year, Sheila and Roland of Joe’s Dining are very generously supporting Listening Horse by donating 20% of all meals eaten at Joe’s Dining on Tuesday, Nov. 15th. Please come and feast on the amazing, locally-sourced food at Joe’s, supporting their mission and ours!
PLEASE share this flyer, forward it to your friends and family, post it on Facebook, websites and invite as may people as possible to come eat!
The more eaters at Joe’s on the 15th, the more funds raised for Listening Horse, helping us to continue providing equine-assisted therapy (at no cost) in our community.
Hope to see you at Joe’s!
COME HONOR VETERANS ON VETERANS DAY!
Join us on a parade through downtown Santa Fe to honor the folks who have served our country.
On Friday, November 11th, Listening Horse will have 3 horses riding in the parade. You’re invited to come ride your horse or ride in the truck (limited space available) through downtown. The parade begins on Murales St. by Ft. Marcy (between Old Taos Hwy. and Bishop’s Lodge Rd.) We’ll be gathering between 9:00-9:30am.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Hope you join us!
Not only do we still want more stuff to sell, we’d love some help putting it all together!
You can help with pricing on Saturday, September 10th @ 1pm.
You can also help with setting up on Friday September, 30th in the afternoon.
We’ll need help with selling and cleanup from 7am to 6pm on Saturday, October 1st.
On Sunday and Monday (October 2nd and 3rd), we’ll need help with cleanup and return of borrowed items.
If you’d like to help, or have something to donate (no clothing please), contact me for more details.
All donations are tax deductible. Please let me know if you’d like a tax letter.
Thank you for your ongoing support & helping Listening Horse help others!
On Friday, September 9th, participants from Listening Horse will be showing off their riding skills with other therapeutic riding programs. Between 9am-12pm, they’ll be riding in a show with their peers, practicing their horsemanship and earning ribbons.
We’ll be taking 3 horses, all their tack, etc. and could use some help! We’ll be grooming, saddling, tending to the horses and riders as needed and helping the fair organizer as needed. Unloading when back in Santa Fe is the final task. It’s a fun day!
We’ll be meeting at the arena at 6am and can caravan to Albuquerque. Each person needs a ticket, which is $7.00 when purchased in advance. Listening Horse will purchase the tickets for each person who wants to join us and if reimbursing the program is a hardship, we’ll cover your cost.
Please let me know by Monday, September 5th if you’d like to help out.
Feel free to email with any questions.
Are you up for helping out this fall? We can sure use your help!
