Name Changes at NARHA

The North American Riding for Handicapped Association (NARHA) has changed names. NARHA is now the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Int’l) and its Horses for Heroes program is now PATH Int’l Equine Service for Heroes.

The change to PATH Int’l was made to reflect the international growth of NARHA, which was started in 1969, and remains the premier organization that trains and certifies therapeutic horsemanship programs internationally. The change to Equine Services for Heroes was made in order to distinguish PATH’s certified veterans programs from the number of Horses for Heroes programs that have sprung up around the country that are not affiliated with PATH.

The names have changed but everything else remains the same. For safe and effective therapeutic riding, look for the PATH Int’l and PATH Equine Services for Heroes logos.
